Penn Valley rodeo returns for three-day run starting on May 14

image Cowboys and cowgirls alike will be in for the rides of their lives at the Penn Valley Rodeo, which opens on Friday, May 14.

The Four Star Rodeo Company, which provides livestock for more than 50 rodeos a year, will be bringing the bucking broncs and bulls to Penn Valley.

The Penn Valley Rodeo will open on Friday, May 14, and continue on Saturday and Sunday with a lineup that includes a parade, a queen coronation, live music and three days of rodeo action.

 

This year’s announcer is Don Jesser, who has 40 years of rodeo experience and is recognized as one of the top rodeo announcers in the nations.

 

Top barrel man Donnie Landis will be returning as the rodeo clown. The 47-year-old is a fourth generation cowboys and a second generation rodeo clown.

 

The Four Star Rodeo Company will provide the livestock for the three-day event. The company provides livestock for more than 50 rodeos a year, including the California Cowboys Pro Rodeo Association Finals, Senior Pro National Finals, the California High School Rodeo State Finals and the All Indian World Finals.

 

The parade starts at 3 p.m. Saturday at Western Gateway Park and goes to the rodeo grounds at 10513 Spenceville Road.
