OB/GYN Joins Western Sierra Clinic
Dr. Christopher Genobaga, an obstetrician and gynecologist since 2000, has joined the Maternity Health Unit at Western Sierra Medical Clinic, helping to fill a critical need in the area.

“It’s important for women, especially for mothers and their still-developing babies, to have access to women’s health services,” said Dr. Genobaga, who will practice in the Grass Valley health center. “I’ve been a practicing OB/GYN in the region for many years and the problem is becoming worse. The number of OB/GYNs is not keeping pace with the population growth.”

Dr. Genobaga previously worked with Peachtree Clinic and Rideout Medical Associates in Sutter and Yuba counties.

He is board certified by the American Board Obstetrics and Gynecology and received his medical degree from Loma Linda University.

At Western Sierra, Dr. Genobaga will offer prenatal care and do deliveries at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley. He also will help patients choose their birth control and perform hysterectomies.

Dr. Genobaga brings tremendous experience and skills to Western Sierr and its patients,” said Dr. Heather Lucas-Ross, the clinic’s chief medical officer.

“He also knows the community and the needs of its residents and that is extremely important in health and wellness,” she said.
