Host families sought for French exchange students

The nonprofit World Exchange seeks host families for French students who are arriving on Aug. 1 in Nevada County for a 20-day stay. Several have been placed with families, but four more hosts and a place for the group leader to stay are needed.

The students range in age from 15-18 and are fairly fluent in English. They also come fully insured and have ample spending money.

World Exchange will take the students on two day trips, one to San Francisco, one to Squaw Valley. There also will be a farewell party featuring an American tradition. These activities are optional and not intended to conflict with the host family’s plans.

The exchange students who still need a host family are:

Thomas, 16, speaks English, Spanish and Chinese, plays tennis, loves to swim and lives near Versailles;

Arnaud, 15, speaks English, and German, likes animals, plays with a jazz band and lives near Paris;

Vincent, 15, speaks English and Spanish, plays tennis, loves pets and lives in a village near Paris;

Theo, 17, speaks English and Spanish, likes bicycling, swimming and basketball, and lives north of Paris.

If you are interested in hosting an exchange student, call Linda Turner at 530-477-7706.
