‘The Music Man’ to open July 12 at the Nevada Theatre

 

Sierra Stages will present Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” on four weekends from July 12 through Aug. 4 at Nevada Theatre in Nevada City.

The show will feature classic Broadway songs as “76 Trombones”, “Ya Got Trouble,” “Marian the Librarian,” “My White Knight,” “Till There Was You” and others.

Jeffrey Mason will direct the show with dance direction by George Jayne and musical direction by Ken Getz, who also will conduct a 14-piece orchestra. Set design is by Pamela Mengers Hodges, costume design by Sharon Olson and lighting design by Zac Cahoon.

The cast of local actors is headed by Erick Lindley as “Professor” Harold Hill and Dawn Simmons as Marian. The supporting cast includes Trish Adair, Noreen Barnett, Amber Busse, Luci Gardiner, Maddie Gardiner, Nancy Haffey, Sarah LaPlante, Sunny Ostrom, Emily Rice, Kim Wellman, Chris Whitlock, Ellie Wyman, Isaias Acosta, Ty Baldwin, Harris Banneck, Kevin Kirkpatrick, Charles Landau, JR Lewis, Ken Miele, Conor Nolan, Jordan Thomas-Rose, Cap Wallington, Jonathan Willis and a dozen eight- to twelve-year-olds who will come together as River City’s first-ever boys’ marching band.
