NID Hosts Meeting on Update of Urban Water Management Plan

The Nevada Irrigation District is updating its Urban Water Management Plan and will host a public meeting to introduce the update to interested members of the community.
The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, Apr. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Board Meeting Room at the NID Business Center, 1036 West Main Street, in Grass Valley.
NID Supervising Engineer Vern Smith said Urban Water Management Plans are required by the state and must be updated every five years. NID’s plan was last updated in 2005.
Urban Water Management Plans address water availability, reliability, conservation, shortages and emergency response for treated water supplies.
A staff presentation on the update will be followed by ample opportunity for members of the public to comment and ask questions.
