The South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) has hired Leslie Jacobson to replace Kathy Dotson as the festival producer of its annual Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival in Nevada City.

According to a press release, Jacobson has more than a decade of experience producing events that include Sacramento Earth Day, California WorldFest, and the KVMR Celtic Festival.

“As a longtime fan and supporter of SYRCL, I am honored to return to Nevada City in the role of festival producer.” Jacobson said in a statement. “SYRCL has created an exceptional event that not only brings together the community, but also serves to motivate and inspire the pubic to explore environmental issues.”

Dotson served as a SYRCL staff member since 2000 and was the founding festival director for the first eight productions of the Wild & Scenic Festival.

The 9th annual Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival will be held on Jan. 14-16, 2011. This year’s events featured more than 140 films.
