An interior design company from Truckee expects to open an outlet in mid-April in the former home of Taylor-Drake Furniture at the corner of Spring and South Pine streets in downtown Nevada City.

High Camp Home owner Diana Vincent said Thursday the company plans to open its Nevada City branch next month before the start of California Preservation Foundation Conference and 2010 Amgen Tour of California bicycle race. Both events are in mid-May.

"We're getting a really good response," Vincent said of Nevada City.

Vincent said her company, which has had a store in Truckee for eight years, is going to do some renovations and redecorating before the store opens.

Taylor-Drake Furniture closed earlier this year after a brief run at the location. Previously, the building was used as a warehouse for the Fur Traders.

The news of High Camp Home's decision to expand to Nevada City comes on the same week that Nevada City Seafood opened across the street. Owner Eric Juell says they will hold a grand opening on Friday and Saturday.
