BriarPatch wants to make social media more social
The BriarPatch Co-op wants to make social networking more like the real deal.
The organic-food store and restaurant is hosting a Nevada County Tweet-up and meet-up from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, in its Community Room.
“Get off of your computer and hang out with us at the Nevada County TweetUp,” said Mellisa Hannum, the social media contact at Briar Patch, which is located on Sierra College Drive in Grass Valley.
A panel of local social-media users will share their knowledge of Twitter, which allows people to network on the Internet but limits messages to 140 characters.
The panel of experts who will take questions includes:
Paul Smith, a sustainable business consultant and blogger;
Vanessa Smith, a wellness coach, speaker, and author;
Machen MacDonald, a bestselling author, business coach, and speaker;
Brenda Horton, the owner of Hware, a software company that designs online planning tools for small businesses, non-profits, and start-ups.
If you’d like to attend, please RSVP Mellisa Hannum at mellisah@briarpatch.coop. More information is available at briarpatch.coop or at facebook.com/BriarPatchCoOp.
