According to documents submitted to the Planning Commission, the Bank of America has agreed to replace the red body color with a bronze “champagne” color; change the white lettering to blue; remove the logo; and make the sign “non-illuminated.”

After the city heard several complaints about the illuminated lights and logo on the Bank of America ATM machine at 201 Commercial Street, the company has agreed to change its signage, according to Nevada City Planner Cindy Siegfried.

“They were great to work with once they heard the concerns,” she said.

The Planning Commission will consider the changes at its meeting on Thursday, Feb. 18, at City Hall chambers. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

Siegfried says the city would like to see the changes made before the California Preservation Foundation Conference holds its annual convention here on May 12-15.
