The Nevada County Democratic Central Committee is sponsoring a lecture and book-signing by David Swanson, author of the best-selling book “Daybreak: Undoing the Imperial Presidency and Forming a More Perfect Union.”

It will be held on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains, 246 S. Church Street in Grass Valley. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $5 and available at the door. Reservations are encouraged and can be made at www.nevadacountydemocrats.com.

Swanson served as press secretary for Dennis Kucinich’s 2004 presidential campaign, media coordinator for the International Labor Communications Association, co-founder of AfterDowningStreet.org, creator of ConvictBushCheney.org and Washington director of Democrats.com.

He now serves as a board member of Progressive Democrats of America, the Backbone Campaign, and Voters for Peace.

“Daybreak” is a prescription for political reform and literally ends with a to-do list for citizens. It has drawn enthusiastic reviews from critics and readers alike. It offers a specific guide to the restoration of representative government from the imperial presidency that grew dramatically under the Bush/Cheney administration.
