McClintock to hold town hall meeting in Grass Valley
Since he took office in January, McClintock has been named the ranking Republican on the Water and Power Subcommittee and voted against the federal stimulus package, the Helping Families Save Their Home Act and the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009. He also opposes President Obama’s proposals to reform health care.
Rep. Tom McClintock will stop in Grass Valley as part of four town-hall meetings the first-term congressman’s office has scheduled for the first week of September.
McClintock, a Republican and former Southern California assemblyman, narrowly defeated Charlie Brown in the November election to win California’s 4th Congressional District seat. He was recently named the new ranking Republican member of the Water and Power Subcommittee, which oversees “generation of electric power from federal water projects and interstate water issues.”
