Thousands of visitors are expected to descend on Nevada City for the three-day event that features more than 135 movies, film workshops, receptions, parties, live music and an awards ceremony at 4:15 p.m. Saturday where actor Patrick Stewart is expected to make an appearance. Below is a listing of opening day events that was sent to us by the Wild & Scenic Film Festival staff. The festival starts today and continues through Sunday. Center, 412 Commercial St. * JUST ADDED - 106 Union Street: Join us as we open the Native Amerian Retrospective session for a unique radio listening experience with Estrella Acosta. This one hour documentary explores the healing journey of the Tsi-Akim Maidu as they recover from the toxic effects of Nevada Cityʼs Gold Rush. Q & A with tribal members to follow. Reception begins at 4pm, and radio program at 5pm. FRIDAY EVE MUSIC (FREE WITH FRIDAY TICKET) Enjoy local, complimentary music before the films with your Friday eve ticket.
