The Cheatin’ Buzzies headline Cooper’s Amgen weekend
Performing all original music, The Cheatin’ Buzzies is considered one of the area’s most solid rock groups that blends strong lead vocals with edgy guitar riffs. They have refined a unique style in their five years of playing, and in 2008 they received the Northern California Artistic Achievement Award for Best Independent Band.
Local rock group The Cheatin’ Buzzies will headline Nevada City’s venerable Cooper’s Ale Works on Saturday, May 15, on the eve of Stage 1 of the 2010 Amgen Tour of California bicycle race. Mike Farrell and Band open the night’s music at 9 p.m. with The Cheatin’ Buzzies on stage at 10:30 p.m.
Now recording their third CD, The Cheatin’ Buzzies is comprised of Jenny Knapp, vocals, songwriter and guitar; Bruce Carter, lead guitarist, songwriter and vocals; Lucas Weber, keyboards; Darin Driscoll, bass; and Rob Kopp, drums. Kopp was a member of The Dead Beats for eight years.
