NCTV to televise, stream live interviews from Wild & Scenic Film Festival

image Photo by Bob Lickter The 8th annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival kicked off Friday with a bash the Media Center in the Alpha Building, the site of live interviews throughout Saturday and Sunday.

For the first time NCTV, in conjunction with Cognizant Productions, will broadcast live interviews with over 35 filmmakers, environmental activists and festival-goers from the site of the new Media Lounge at the 8th Annual SYRCL Wild and Scenic Film Festival.

Join co-hosts Elisa Parker and Jesse Locks of “See Jane Do” direct from the historic Alpha Building in downtown Nevada City. Viewers watching the events on NCTV, the world-wide web or on their iPhones will get front-row seats at festival headquarters.

 Along with SYRCL and “See Jane Do,” these events will be co-produced by NCTV, Cognizant Productions and The FARM (Foothill Arts, Resources & Media).

Among those to be interviewed is special guest and renowned actor Patrick Stewart, (“X-Men,” “Star Trek the Next Generation”) who will discuss his work with filmmaker Seth Warren. Seth’s eco-adventure film, “Nature Propelled,” will have its world premiere at the festival.

Viewers of NCTV, Comcast Channel 11 (Suddenlink Ch. 16 in South County) can watch these interviews, as well as trailers for many of the films, live from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17.

They can also view the broadcast on our website at www.nevadacountytv.org and clicking on the “Watch – Live Streaming” feature.

The live broadcast is made possible using WireCast by Nevada City’s own cutting edge software company, Telestream Inc., founded in 1998.

In one square mile, SYRCL has created a forum to inspire activism fit for the new decade with over 135 films, 35 premieres, and 85 speakers. The festival also includes special events, worskhops and activities for kids and the whole family.

At the Media Lounge, located at Festival Headquarters, visitors can connect to free Wi-Fi, meet up with friends, and bump into celebrities– couch surfing encouraged.
