SYRCL Celebration
SYRCL will hold its 22nd Annual Auction and River celebration from 5 to 11 p.m. at Miners Foundry in downtown Nevada City. “Las Aguas vivas del Yuba” features six local wineries pouring 12 wines that will be paired with tapas prepared by Jim Eckardt of Club 141 in Grass Valley. Gary Snyder Film
“The Practice of the Wild, A Conversation with Gary Snyder and Jim Harrison” starts at 8 p.m. at the Center for the Arts in downtown Grass Valley. This film revolves around a life-long conversation between Snyder, a Pulitzer-prize winning poet, and poet and novelist Jim Harrison (“Legends of the Fall”) while they take a trek along the stunning wild country of Big Sur. The Nevada City Farmers Market opens its third season on Union Street between Broad and Commercial streets. It goes from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on each Saturday until Oct. 30.
