The Artist's Studio in the Foothills Visual Arts Center & Gallery will hold an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, for its Winter Resident Artist Show.

The show features the work of 25 artists who work in a variety of mediums. It started on Feb. 5 and continues through March 5 at the gallery at 940 Idaho Maryland Road in Grass Valley, which is also where the reception that includes food and wine will be held.

“It's amazing how much synergy and momentum is created when artists come together in a collaborative work space.” says Amanda Paoletti, ASIF director. “The shows alone are such a huge motivator, not to mention the inspiration each of us receive from each other on a daily basis! This place is rocking with artistic energy!”

A sister show, meanwhile, featuring a sampling of ASIF resident artists’ works will be exhibited at Matteo's Public, a restaurant and bar at 300 Commercial Street in Nevada City.  For more information on that show, call Matt Margulies at 530-265-0782.
