FREED, karate school to host 'Muscle in the Mountains'
FREED Center for Independent Living and the Iron Dragon Kenpo Karate School are joining forces to hold “Muscle in the Mountains - Strength for Independence” on Sept. 12 in Grass Valley.
Events will include individual and team truck pull, tire flip, bench press, dead lift, and wheelbarrow race. The competition is open to women and men of all ages. Children’s events include an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) pull and tire flip.
There will also be a health and food fair, live auction and music. Registration forms can be found at Moto Elite in Grass Valley, FREED in Nevada City or online at www.freed.org.
Organizations, businesses and agencies are invited to participate in the health and food vendor fair. Those interested in competing, joining the food and health vendor fair, or becoming an event sponsor can call FREED at 530-265-4444.
FREED provides independent living services that support individuals with disabilities and their families to live full, active lives as productive, self-sufficient community members.
Muscle in the Mountains will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12 from noon to 5 p.m. at Moto Elite at 158 Olympia Park Road in the Brunswick Basin in Grass Valley.
