Question: What do you like about Nevada City?

1.      Barbara  – Ranch Manager from Oakdale-  I like the whole feel of all of the gold rush towns along 49, I love the food & the shopping but most of all Isabelle Johnnie Lou Miller!

2.      Betty Kay– Business owner:  One of my favorite things about Nevada City is driving down Broad Street in the morning taking my kids to school seeing the beautiful trees, the skyline of the city and the sun coming up - it’s just beautiful, everyday I do that it reminds me I live in paradise.

3.      Bob – Sales consultant for real estate and business management - The people, the vibe, the diversity in occupation and interests and open-mindedness.  It’s fun to be down here it’s a little more festive. Grass Valley is a little bit better for the business because they cater to business a little more but this is a smaller community and thank god they’re different or they would eliminate each other, so vive la difference!

4.      Cindy – resident since 1988 , high tech marketing -  I come here everyday, I love to go the coffee shops- go to Java Johns and Broad Street Bistro and see all my friends,  have a good time here, I love the feel, what shopping I do go into the shops and do that, I love the open feeling here, I just came from church where we have an open-door, open-heart approach, and so everyone is welcome I like the compassion people show to the homeless, I just like the way people reach out and help folks.  

5.      Luci - Lands Program coordinator- I love the combination of the landscape in conjunction with the old city streets.

6.      Steve- Construction project manager- I like the diversity of the shops and restaurants and what it has come to be from what it was.  30 years ago my parents had a florist shop on Broad Street and at that time there were 4 drug stores in a row and it was pretty much a dead town back then, but I’ve seen it grow to what it is now, it’s nice to

7.      Parker & Sydney -Students- I like to come down here and hang out with my grandma & grandpa.  I like to hang out in their shop and walk around and look at stuff.

8.      Suzie -  Hairstylist – Well, in general I love the overall feel and to get specific I love Sushi-Q, and I love all the shopping and all the people.  I love it.
