All aboard! Railbus rides available at museum
The Nevada County Narrow Gauge Museum is now offering rides on Saturdays and for scheduled tours on Donna Jeanne #97.

The 35-minute railbus ride runs along the edge of The Inn Town Campground, parallels a portion of the railroad’s original route and arrives at The Northern Queen Inn before returning to the museum at #5 Kidder Court in Nevada City.

The Railbus departure timetables for boarding from either the museum or The Northern Queen Inn are available at ncngrrmuseum.org.

In addition, docent-led tours that highlight the historical significance of the Narrow Gauge Railroad to Nevada County are offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays through Tuesdays through Oct. 31.

The Nevada County Historical Society also announced that its museums opened for the season on April 29. In addition to the Narrow Gauge Museum, The Firehouse No.1 Museum and the Searls Historical Research Library are in Nevada City. The North Star Mining (and Pelton Wheel) Museum is in Grass Valley.
